John Duke held one of the stalls in the Corporation Meat Market, part of what is now known as ‘The English Market’. Located in the city centre, the market has sold a wide range of food to the public since 1788. Note that John Duke supplied meat to ships provisioning in Cork.(CCCA U15B/p-d-ii-29-2 Hewitt Papers)
